First Day of Classes Began!

So Jeremy and I began new classes on Wednesday of this week; Romans, Soteriology (The study of Salvation), and 1&2 Peter.   The first two days have been so good.   For our first assignment in Soteriology, the instructor gave us a list of verses that had the words "saved or salvation" in them and we had to decipher whether it was talking about justification, sanctification, glorification, or a physical salvation.  This was very enlightening because most of the time when I come to the word saved in the Bible; I automatically think its talking about justification.  This is not always true.  We are so excited about what God is going to teach us this semester.  Please be praying that we will be dependent on Him and get to know Him more deeply as we study His word.  We are so grateful that He is allowing us to do this.  Thanks for all of your support and encouragement.  Also be praying that the Lord will prepare us to be parents. I was 20 weeks on Monday and we had a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday.  Our doctor said that our sweet little girl seems to be developing perfectly and every looks so far so good.  Praise God!!  Love you all!  Have a good week.

Baby Girl and Garrett Coming to the Cheese State!!

So our Christmas break was full of fun and excitement. We were able to spend lots of quality time with family and friends in Arkansas. The main highlight of our break was that Garrett got to ride back up with us to Wisconsin and spend the week. We had such a great time together and he was able to go with us to our ultrasound and share with us the excitement of having a little girl. It was shocking to Jeremy and I when we found out it was a girl because we both felt like it was a boy, but Garrett had always said it was a girl and got to say, "I told ya so." I have downloaded some pics of our time together. We put Garrett on a plane on Saturday headed back to Arkansas. It was sad to see him go, but we were so thankful that he was able to come see us. It was so good to have family in Wisconsin with us.

19 Weeks and Counting!
It's a girl and we are so excited and a little scared.  The Lord is blessing us so much and giving us such an awesome oppurtunity and responsibility having a child.  I definitely have a bump now which is weird and cool at the same time.  Jeremy has already started reading her bible stories form this great children's story bible that Cams got for her.  Its a really good because it teaches chronologically through the bible and teaches all the redemptive stories in the old testament that are a picture of Christ.  I can not wait for her to arrive.  We are still debating about what to name her and we might wait to see what we think she looks like.  Please be praying that the Lord with prepare us to be parents and give us wisdom.  Love you guys.  Have a great week.

A Thanksgiving to Remember!!

So this Thanksgiving was one that I will never be able to forget.  We were able to annouce to our families that we will be having a sweet baby Hammer in June.  We are so blessed and our parents were so excited.  Shelley aka (Zsha Zsha) and Randy aka (Gramps) could not believe that I was able to hold it in so long as I am about 3 and 1/2 months along.  Usually I am not a very good secret keeper, but we really wanted to tell them in person.  Cammie and Ronny, I think are still in shock due to having 2 grandchildren within a months span of each other.  Jeremy's sister Hillary is due on May 8th and I am due June 6th.  It is fun because I can call her and see what life will be like for me a month from now.  I can not wait to take our baby's pictures together.  I have not really started showing yet, but my pants are beginning to get a little tight. Another great thing about this thanksgiving was that we were able to spend it with our three Chinese friends that Jeremy led to the Lord over the summer.  This was there first time to celebrate Thanksgiving.  Jeremy has still been meeting with them weekly via Skype and has been discipling them.  We all have become very good friends and they are so much fun to be around.  They are growing so much in the Lord.  Anyway love all of you.  I have posted some pics of our Thanksgiving fun.  God has been expecially good to us this year as He always is.  Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the people! Lecrae Concert in Chicago!!

Chicago Style Pizza in Chicago!!

On Sunday night, November 7th, Jeremy and I along with our friends Sean and Jinny went to a Lecrae concert put on my Moody Bible Institute in down town Chicago. Lecrae, for anyone who does not know, is a Christian rap artist and if you can understand his lyrics, they are absolutely incredible. We know pretty much every song he sings by heart so it was a blast for us. We know Lacrae’s road manager, Steadman Nall. His brother was a groomsman in our wedding that Jeremy played baseball with for the Mets. One of the songs was about marriage and they had married couples come up on stage and dance. Through our connection with Steadman we were chosen, and it was so much fun. About 40 students from New Tribes attended the concert and when they saw us on stage they could not believe it. A teacher spoke in our daily chapel service this morning and the first thing he said when he began speaking was the He voted Jeremy and I as the best dancers. (Well maybe Jeremy!! HeHe) Before the concert, we ate Chicago style pizza in a little place downtown and it was delicious. There is nothing like it on earth! Yum!

Anyway we have started in Acts and 1 Corinthians and both classes are incredible. This is the first time we have taken a New Testament class were we are going straight through the books and breaking them down verse by verse. Acts is so awesome because Christ’s disciples are being obedient to preach the gospel in spite of great opposition. My favorite verse so far because it just blows my mind is: Acts 5:41 Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name. Peter and some of the apostles had just received a beating for telling people about Jesus and they rejoiced. It is so hard to imagine suffering for the name of Christ because growing up in America this does not really happen. My prayer is that if this does ever happen that I would glorify God as the apostles did. It is cool to see the same guy who denied Jesus three times, stand up to the Jewish leaders and defend the name of Christ and even rejoice in suffering for Him. What an awesome picture of the grace of God. Love you guys and have a great week!

Tribal Cup!!

Hey Friends and Family! Jeremy and I are driving to Jackson, Michigan with our friends, Jill and BJ for the Tribal Cup.  Since their are two New Tribes Bible Institutes, one in Wisconsin and one in Michigan, we have a tournament each fall and spring and play against each other in various sporting events.  Jeremy is playing in the football game, so when we get back I will post some pictures.  We just started today a class called Christology and it is amazing.  We talked about the eternality of Christ and how he has always been and always will be.  It was great to see all the scripture to back up Christ's eternality.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.   Just wanted a give yall a quick update.
